Movie Night with "Pinocchio"

For November, PhD Academy Movie Committee will be screening the movie 'Holy Spider'. Directed by Ali Abbasi, the movie was quite popular at the Cannes Film Festival and won Best Actress award for it's lead actor. The plot revolves around a journalist who tries to uncover the dark mysteries of one of Iran's holy cities.

For October, The PhD Academy Movie Committee will be screening "Good Luck to you, Leo Grande". Starring Emma Thompson and Daryl McCormack, this movie is a comedy-drama, directed by Sophie Hyde. The film was shot in just 2 locations and involved a mere 5 actors, and yet drew critical praise at the Sundance Festival 2022 where it premiered.
