Ski Trip - DAVOS 2022

This year’s Ski trip will be better than ever before!

We will be staying at the sports club Weissfluh in Davos, which is a former research institute located right in the middle of the Parsenn ski area directly on the slopes. The view up there is just breathtaking!

Ski in - Ski out in the truest sense of the word! You'll find the house in the heart of the ski area at Weissfluhjoch. Your winter sports adventure starts on arrival: After the bus has brought you to Davos, you will immediately receive your ski passes and then you can go directly with Parsennbahn to the Weissfluh. You can either take your luggage with you and bring it to the sports club yourself or you can have it shipped there for you - and after a quick check-in, you'll be ready to hit the slope.

The ski areas of the Davos Klosters Mountains are rightfully considered among the best in the Swiss Alps. They are absolutely snow-sure from November to the end of April. With a wide range of long downhill runs, numerous variations and pistes of every level of difficulty, everyone is guaranteed to get their money's worth. Around 300 kilometres of pistes are at your full disposal to let off steam.

• Leaving Maastricht by bus at night 7pm (tentative) on Saturday, January 1, 2022
• Returning to Maastricht morning of Saturday, January 8, 2022

Davos Klosters (including Jakobshorn, Parsenn, Madrisa, & Römerhorn) ski area, Switzerland

Prices starting at 409 euros* for a bed in a shared room, 429$ for a bed in a 4-bed room, and 449$ for a bed in a 2-bed room.

Note: You can also bring your own equipment (bed sheets, skis, helmets, etc.) on the bus with you.

The PhD Academy will refund 50€ (in VVV vouchers) to the first 20 PhD students from Maastricht University. So be sure to register as soon as possible for this great offer!

CORONA RULES:

To guarantee the safety of all participants, you will have to be able to provide a proof of either being:

• fully vaccinated against corona
• recovered from an infection

IMPORTANT:

If you are not able to provide this proof, you will not be allowed to board the bus, even if you have booked! Please note that a negative test result will NOT be sufficient to join the trip!

LUGGAGE:

Due to the location, we recommend that you also book the luggage transport (20€) from Davos to the Lodge. Otherwise, you will have to carry your luggage in the Lift to the lodge.

INSURANCE:

We highly recommend that you purchase extra ski insurance.

You are welcome to invite friends or family members on the trip! Just pass the link along to them. The bus makes several stops throughout Germany (typically Cologne, Frankfurt, Stuttgart)

BOOKING INFORMATION:

Instructions for booking: Click 'Buchen' behind the room of your choice. Select the number of people that you want to do the booking for and choose 'Bus-Hinfahrt' and 'Bus-Rueckfahrt' if you want to go with us by bus. On the next page you can choose the bus stop where you want to step in. If you book for several people at once and they step into the bus in different cities then you have to choose the option 'fuer einzelne Teilnehmer'. 
If you want to book a 2-person or 4-person room, you have to book at the same time for all 4 people in the room. Fill in which room for how many people you want to book and under 'Waehle hier die gewuenschte Anzahl der verschiedenen Zusatzleistungen' select the Kurtaxe and vegan/vegetarian food if you want to. On this page you can also book the skipass and/or indicate whether you want to borrow skiing or snowboard equipment (for this select 'Verleih'). 

Then you have to enter you personal details such as name, address etc. Then you find the option to book a travel insurance ('E&P Reisen & Events Reiseschutz bis 400euro'). On the next page select 'Ja, ich habe die Allgemeinen Geschaeftsbedingungen gelesen und akzeptiere sie' (which means that you accept the business conditions), and 'Ja, ich moechte diese Reise jetzt zum Preis von XXX,XXeuro buchen' (which means that you do want to book). Then click 'Verbindliche Buchung ausfueren' (execute obligatory booking).

After booking, you will receive your invoice within a few days.
