Movie Night with "Everything Everywhere All At Once"

Hey fellow PhDs!
For the May movie night, we are screening the much-anticipated movie "Everything Everywhere All At Once". It is all at once: sci-fi comedy, relationship drama, an action film about martial arts and a drama about the love between mother and daughter.

Description :
Evelyn and her husband Waymond have an unsuccessful laundromat, a rebellious daughter and a tax return that never gets completed. Just when it all gets too much for her, the universe shatters into an infinite number of universes and Evelyn is no longer just a laundromat owner, but an internationally renowned film star, kung fu master, chef and perhaps the hero everyone needed all along.
The term multiverse refers to the idea that there are many other (parallel) universes besides the visible universe we live in. Dan Kwan & Daniel Scheinert run with that idea for this cheerfully anarchic film, giving each universe a different look, with nods to films like THE MATRIX, 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY, RATATOUILLE and CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON. The result is a creative, messy and glorious film, which opened the South By Southwest Festival earlier this year.

The show will be at Lumiere Cinemas on 18th May at 19:15 hours.

Hoping to see most of you there!!
